Madison, WI - Fiskars Garden Tools has announced an integrated sponsorship and advertising relationship with noted gardening authority, P. Allen Smith. Fiskars will be a sponsor of P. Allen Smith's public television series, syndicated gardening series, website (pallensmith.com), gardening newsletter and on many of his ever-expanding media platforms.
"Our entire organization is energized by this association," said Jeff Powell, president, Fiskars Garden Tools. "Allen is one of America's most recognized and trusted gardening authorities, and we are delighted that his vast audience on so many media fronts will be exposed to the full line of innovative gardening tools and solutions that we offer."
With over 350 years of expertise, Fiskars Garden Tools can be depended on for innovation, quality and durability. From ergonomically designed, high-performance cutting and landscaping tools to water-conserving soaker hoses, Fiskars garden tools are designed to enhance the gardening experience. According to Powell, the formal relationship between Smith and Fiskars is a "natural progression" that began at the National Hardware Show in Chicago two years ago. Smith was doing a report for CBS about new products that make gardening easier, and nearly the entire report focused on innovations from Fiskars.
Following the show, Fiskars began sending Smith tools to try out in the garden, which, according to Smith, caused delight from his entire gardening staff. Explains Smith, "We were like kids in a candy store every time a new shipment arrived."
P. Allen Smith reaches homeowners as the gardening expert for The Weather Channel, The CBS Early Show and Woman's Day magazine. He is the host of a nationally syndicated television series and a public television series. His second book, P. Allen Smith's Garden Home Journal was released this month.
"Our missions match," continues Smith. "Fiskars is committed to providing solutions that simplify and enrich the gardening experience, and that is the essence of the information that I provide to America's home gardeners every day. Multi-tasking, young homeowners and aging baby boomers alike are looking for comfort and ease-of-use in the garden."
Fiskars believes that they have the answer, with the ongoing introduction of lightweight, ergonomic, comfortable-to-use garden tools.
According to Fiskars marketing director, Paul Thompson, "Allen was also intrigued by Project Orange ThumbSM -- our new grant program that is helping to beautify community gardens in neighborhoods throughout America." Smith will feature stories about the community effort in his popular e-newsletters, on www.pallensmith.com, and in other media in the months ahead.
